To make enough money to go to college l'd take some paintings with me to the streets of Hollywood and Santa Monica, California. I managed to get through college with a degree in Theater Arts scenic, lighting, and costume design, working at junior and state colleges. Somehow I moved to design of lighting and effects in nightclubs, restaurants, hotels and stores along with some film and TV work. From this background I found a career in architectural lighting, which I am still working in. But, over the last severaal years I have returned to my first love: the art of painting. As a designer, to be successful, I do not focus on my opinions or feelings. When I paint I do not focus on anyone but myself. I paint what I see, how I see it. I believe any attempt to "paint the way others people like" is a fundamental error in art. I understand how many people do not like or understand my work. I have no feelings for the way they feel. I do not necessarily understand why some people respond by purchasing my works; I just have such a feeling of completeness, of personal joy and satisfacion when they do. This gallery site has paintings I have done, the originals sold over the last several years and some newly created pieces. I have opened this gallery to alow prints to be created for anyone finding meaning or beauty in my work - something I have been asked many times to do, and that I do now based on the quality of work provided by imagekind. .
