A majority of these are taken at Fairfield State Hospital in Newtown, Connecticut. "Fairfield Hills," as it is more commonly known, was shut down in 1995 and its sprawling campus has been largely empty since then. Some buildings are awaiting demolition and will be turned into parking lots or baseball diamonds. Others will have a new life as office space or possibly a restaurant.
