These photopaintings consist of photo collages (composites), montages and photos combined with textures or digital paint effects. I will even include the occasional purely digital painting. Generally, I begin with my own photo and add things if the composition requires it. Others begin with blank canvas. Sometimes I digitally paint a background, and other times I use a photo of an acrylic painting I've done, as well as scenic photos. This process began as studies for acrylic paintings I wanted to do, but I've come to enjoy the computer as a painting tool in its own right. I may yet paint some of these on a canvas, as I like the dimensional quality of paint. No matter what the process, the outcome is always something I really consider a "painting" and would like to see on canvas. Some textures I've mixed into a few of the artworks, especially canvas textures (which I rarely use now) might interfere with the actual texture of canvas when printed on canvas. Feel free to try them on a canvas if you so desire, but I've only recommended prints on canvas when I feel confident that it will work satisfactorily! I hope you find something here you like.
