While traveling in Italy my artist's senses were often overwhelmed by all that I saw. The country of my ancestors has inspired artists for thousands of years. I think about it frequently and this series is about the memories I have. It is not my intent to give a literal view, but to convey to the viewer a mood or an idea. I am interested in how the country feels. Warm earth tones bring to mind the warmth and friendliness of the people that I encountered. I am fascinated by the complex history and culture of Italy. There is so much to explore that this series could continue well into the future. These paintings fit well into any decor from antique traditional to very modern.
